Potterspury objects to huge solar farm
Potterspury Parish Council opposes solar farm planning application on Yardley Road.

At the Parish Council meeting on 10 September, Potterspury Parish Council voted unanimously to reject the Yardley Road Solar Farm planning application (2025/2767/MAF – Solar Farm). We joined our colleagues on Yardley Gobion Parish Council in voting against the imposition of this unsuitable application.
The council noted that some 186 comments had been received by West Northants Council, only six of which appeared to support the proposal.
The full details of our objection can be seen below, but in summary, we find these proposals, which have been four years in unacceptable.
To shoehorn a significant power generation facility between two villages and connect it to the grid 10 km away in another county across a major river, clearly signifies that this is not a suitable site for a solar power
generation facility. Potterspury Parish Council strongly objects to the proposal and calls upon West Northants Council to refuse the application.
